The Grandest of Adventures - part one

Here is the beginning of my photographic tale down the Colorado River.  I remember the night my dear friend, Mims Goza called me asking me if I would like to come with her and her family paddling through the Grand Canyon.  I immediately knew my answer was yes, but told her I needed to think about it.  Little thought was needed, and my check securing my spot was soon in the mail.

On the night of June 28, I lay in my cot anxious and reflecting on the day.  Here I was, in the middle of the desert, about to embark on one of the greatest adventures of my life.  Tired from the past twenty-four hours of travel from the East coast and a day of packing the boats, I managed to crawl into my sheet liner hoping my jitters would subside.  I thought to myself, “I am so ready to be pushed, scared, and inspired.”  Little did I realize what the next sixteen days held for me.  I was about to experience every single emotion.  Spiritual cannot fully describe the passage down the Colorado.  As my mom’s friend Marty likes to tell me, ‘grab it and growl’ - I was truly grabbing life and growling.

The photographs were shot with various mediums - iPhone, GoPro, and some Fuji X-Pro 1.  The Hipstamatic Application was the primary app used via iPhone.
